Alberta Human Services
ERIS implemented a SharePoint 2010 solution to provide an Enterprise Information Management system for Alberta Human Services. The system included a customized security structure to meet the security and accessibility needs of the ministry. Customizations and enhancements were put into place to meet the records management and auditing needs. The system also included a set of customized features designed to help simplify the management of the system. The initial rollout of the system included multiple business units and associated workflow processes for them. It also included the relevant document and form based templates for the workflow processes.
Full records management functionality was implemented in the system including an area to manage the records schedules, the templates and types associated with the schedules and the related metadata allowing the content to be managed throughout its entire life cycle.
Included as part of the project was a deliverable containing recommendations for system configuration, additions, and modifications for future phases of the project. This document included recommendations about SharePoint farm configuration as well as back-end data storage for the system.
ERIS managed the project from the vendor side which included facilitating changes in project scope as well as ensuring quality on time deliverables. ERIS also performed business analysis tasks on various areas of the project. Consulting services focused on the usage and application of EIM Governance and Operational Frameworks for Support, Functional Classification, Role Based Access and Security, applicable Legislation and Regulations, CGSB, PMI, ITIL, COBIT, ISO, IIBA, and other industry relevant best practices.
